January 2007 Newsletter

Wow, where to begin? So many people asked me what it's like being Mr. Eagle and I usually tell them "It's like being shot out of a cannon". It's been ALL good!!! I've met so many great people. Most important are the people I've met here in NYC. Please keep introducing yourselves!!!! Check out my website www.mreaglenyc2007.com to see all of the pictures and to stay up to date on any upcoming events!

As I am traveling around, I keep hearing "Oh, the New York scene is dead." Well, if you check out www.M8NY.com, you'll start to think differently!!! Mike Peyton has put together a great web site of all the Leather, Nasty, Dirty, Fun events going on in NYC. If you're sitting home and wallowing in self pity, then get off your rear and get out!!! Afraid to show up by yourself in gear? Then contact me at MrEagleNYC2007@aol.com and Peter and I will meet you!

Put your leather gear on and show up!!! It's that simple!!!

Recap and Highlights

Was named Mr. Eagle on October 8th 2007. Represented The Eagle and New York at Mr./Ms. NJ Leather contest. Hey Chuck and boy robby!!! Then off to Connecticut for the Mr. CT Leather contest. Way to go, Jayson!! I was a judge in the New York Metro Bear's "Bake Off" - LOVED the chocolate grenache! Then a quick trip to my hometown Philly for the Mr./Ms. Philadelphia Leather contest - excellent job, John!! Then the following weekend took a LONG drive to Washington, DC to see Joe win the Mr. DC Eagle contest!!

Took a quick flight north and spent some time up in Toronto for the Mr. Leatherman Toronto Contest - LOVE those Canadians!!! I need to send some special shout outs here. Peter and I were welcomed with open arms and treated so well - THANK YOU!

Peter and I had the pleasure of hosting Michelle Jackson (Ms. World Leather 2005) for a week in December. Not only did she teach us the alphabet in sign language, she also taught us some "key" words as well - THANKS Michelle!!!!

Info and Charity

In November, I hosted the LGBT Center at The Eagle for a night on Information and to collect names of those we lost to AIDS. I can't begin to tell you how many times I hear, "I've found out I'm HIV Positive and not sure where to turn?" "Where can I go for Counseling?" The Center, The Center, The Center. They are there for our community! Don't be afraid to reach out and seek their help!!

World AIDS Day - Right now, if you asked me what was the hardest thing I've had to do as Mr. Eagle, I would tell you that it was the reading of the names of those we have lost to AIDS. Nothing more somber than reading the names and have their loved ones listening. The candlelight march was almost rained out, but we did make it to Union Square to let the public know that the fight is not over. THANK YOU LGBT Center for letting me be a part of this event. I can't thank you enough for the honor you entrusted me in reading!!! (OK, here is where I need to vent just a little bit. As I was on stage reading the names, I couldn't help but feel like I was the youngest one there. We can't forget those we've lost and we need to help the younger generation understand this very important day.)

NYbol - I was asked to be their Leather Santa for the fundraiser to benefit "The Anti Violence Project." I had the pleasure of having HOT men and women either sit on my lap or place them over my knee for a spanking! Who knew there so many naughty leather people in New York City?! The boys raised over $500.00 that night and I was very honored to be a part of it!

Gay Erotic Expo - What a wild and crazy time. If you missed it, make sure you go next year. I had the pleasure of working with The LGBT Center there. It was great to meet so many new people and to talk to them about ALL The Center has to offer. Thanks to Michelle Jackson for the little bit of sign language she taught me, I was able to communicate with a small crowd of deaf people!

Moving Forward

Mark your Calendars!!

January 20th - "Jail and Bail"

Watch for the announcement for my fundraiser at The Eagle. Have your friend arrested and put in jail. You never know who's going to be in the jail cell to punish you??!!! All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit "Safer+Saner" http://www.safersaner.org . My friend Dean Flynn from www.Titanmen.com will be there to promote his new film "Spy Quest 3", so buy some raffle tickets and win some Titan porn. It should be a night of fun and sin, so don't miss it!

Put your leather gear on and show up!!! It's that simple!!!
